Tour Summary:
You will start your tour at the oldest and best protected water village named Zhu Jia Jiao, located 16 miles west of Shanghai downtown. The 400 years old water village will charm you with its small canals, gentle rivers, the tranquil Dian Shan Lake and the numerous small shops in which you can practice your bargaining skills. Then you will visit the Cathedral on top of the Sheshan Hill. This Cathedral is the largest Christian church building in East Asia and was at one time the destination of pilgrims from across Asia. The official name of the church is the Church of the Holy Mother in China. In 1942, Pope Pius XII ordained the She Shan Cathedral a 鈥淢inor Basilica鈥. In 1946, the Holy See crowned the statue of Our Lady of Zose (Zose being the Shanghainese pronunciation of She Shan) at the apex of the tower.

Su Zhou is one of the oldest towns in the Yangtze basin, founded around 600 BC. With its interconnected waterways and beautiful environment, the city is often referred to as "The Venice of the East." Su Zhou was one of the few cities in China to escape the ravages of the Cultural Revolution with its famous gardens almost entirely intact. You will visit the Tiger Hill-the landmark of Suzhou, Shi Li Shan Tang Old Street 鈥 in this street, you can experience what the old Suzhou citizen鈥檚 life is, Humble Administrator鈥檚 Garden and Master of Nets Garden (both of them are among the 4 most famous garden in Suzhou), Panmen Ancient City Wall, Grand Canal. Transfer back to Shanghai after sightseeing.
